Have you ever thought about how much fun it would be to invent a bogus disorder Then when said disorder is coined and enough people have been labeled with your new disorder, you can reap in the riches from the prescription costs.

In the age of social networking, we can network and collaborate together online or have we become self obsessed by it It wasn't so long ago that the idea of a romance playing out online would have been deemed weird, nerdy, or just plain pathetic but with the invention of Facebook, courtship has become a flurry of status messages. Even more so are important social or recreational activities or any minuscule thing a person can think of has migrated to Facebook. Instead of sending an email or making a phone call you post a message on your friend's page about canceling an appointment, painting my toenails, or when you do housework. Welcome to Dumbville!

Today's social networking obsession gives me a new absurd affliction to grind my teeth at and it is the Facebook Addiction Disorder. What does this new disorder-type mean Well first, let me try to break it down for you. I have my own remedy - it's quite simple and it won't cost anyone anything.

If you are suffering from this new so-called disorder, one way to   solve it and the most realistic way is to just unplug the computer from the Internet. But there is still the question of my smartphone. This too, is also quite easy to solve; exchange your existing smartphone for a non-smartphone or just do not own one.

I can just see it now; Employees will come late to work or won't show up at all because they are Facebooking too much, but do not worry it is medically, okay. Here is how the conversation would go between a boss and his/her employee.

Employee: I'm calling to say I won't be coming into work today.

Boss: I hope it's nothing serious.

Employee: I'm Facebooking.

Boss: Say what

Employee: Do not worry; I have a prescription for it and my doctor says...

This Facebook Disorder is laughable and is probably only the beginning of more labeling to come for people who are fixated with 'Twitter,' 'Youtube,' 'Foursquare,' 'Cyworld' and the list goes on. For all the Freudians out there, they are probably pretty pleased with themselves.

As people, we have the need to put a label on everything and especially when it comes to disorders. I would not doubt that there are probably enough disorders to label every person and child on the planet. One tell tale sign if you are Facebooking too much is if you find yourself kissing your girlfriend's homepage or your first-date is a virtual walk in a park. As for myself, I would rather go outdoors and take in a beautiful view, work on improving my creative talents, learn a new skill or imagine this - converse with someone who is sitting across the table from me!
