SEOUL, KOREA - Networking device maker D-link Korea said on February 19 that it would introduce a new 802.11ac router "DIR-850L" capable of supporting gigabit Wi-Fi speed. The new model can transmit data three times faster than 802.11n routers, the currently most up-to-date wireless LAN technology.
It has reduced interference by adopting dual-band wireless technology of 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. The model also supports the existing 300 Mbps 802.11a/b/g/n technologies in order to enhance user convenience. As the most new smartphone models to be available this year will be compatible with the 802.11ac standard, the D-link DIR-850L will improve the cloud computing feature of the smartphones.
The retail price of the DIR-850L is set at 75,000 won. The company will hold a promotional event to celebrate reaching the 1-trillion-won sales revenue goal until March 16.
