GUANGZHOU, CHINA - Wire & Cable Guangzhou, the largest international wire, cable and accessories fair in South China, is confirmed to take place from 9 – 12 June 2015 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex.

Praised as the ideal one-stop destination for sourcing the latest equipment, materials, machinery and detection instruments, the 2015 show is expected to be held across 25,000 sqm of exhibition space and host over 400 domestic and international exhibitors, all of whom are eager to take advantage of the growing demand in the global wire and cable market.

The 2015 fair will move to Hall 14.1 and Hall 15.1 of Area C, and once again be held alongside Messe Frankfurt’s two other renowned technical shows in Asia: Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology.

Mr Emeka Hu, General Manager of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, said, “The wire and cable, lighting and building industries are interrelated in many areas. Organising the three shows concurrently offers a comprehensive platform for demonstrating the latest technologies and solutions for electrical engineering, lighting as well as building and home automation. The 2015 show will retain its focus on finished products, including wire and cable products, optical fibre cables, and equipment and materials. We are optimistic about the show’s growth and its contribution to the development of the industry as a whole.”

During the last edition Wire & Cable Guangzhou featured 318 exhibitors, and attracted 18,821 visitors from 25 countries and regions who came to discover advances in the industry and explore potential partnerships across the region. The visitor profile included a number of industry sectors, such as automobile, architecture, electric power, lighting, municipal engineering and more.

Urbanisation and increased demand for energy-efficient applications stimulate the Chinese wire and cable industry

Driven by the resurgence of the global construction industry and robust expansion of the energy sector, the market value of the global insulated wire and cable sector is expected to exceed USD 113.9 billion in 2015. This growth is contributed substantially by the development of smart grids and increased investment in high-speed railway networks and other electricity and communications infrastructure worldwide.

In China, the local wire & cable and accessories industry has expanded rapidly, with its current market value reaching RMB 3 billion (around USD 487 million). Along with the Chinese government’s stricter energy efficiency building regulations and ongoing urbanisation projects, as well as sustainable growth in the power, data communication and railway industries, the demand for smart gird systems and high-voltage cable accessories within the country remains high. This is expected to lead to strong and steady growth for the domestic wire and cable market over the next five years.

There is also further room for an increase in exports from China. According to the recently released 2014 – 2018 Market Research and Investment Consulting Report of Wire and Cable Industry1, China’s wire and cable exports only account for around 15% of the global total, presenting further growth opportunities for the domestic industry that exhibitors at this fair will be pursuing.
