SEOUL, KOREA - Hite Jinro announced on September 17 that it signed a deal with a Sri Lanka-based liquor producer Mendis to export and distribute its Jinro 24 there.
Mendis is a renowned liquor manufacturer in Sri Lanka, which is specialized in the production of the country’s traditional liquor Arrack. The company is also engaged in imports of a string of international liquor brands such as Brown For man and Barcardi.
Under the terms of this deal, Hite Jinro will export Jinro 24 in both finished and undiluted states. Hite Jinro will make the first shipments of 21,600 liters in December 2014 and start full-scale sales there from the first half of next year. Hite Jinro expects to sell 18,000 boxes (1 box equals 375 ml x 24 bottles) of Jinro 24 in Sri Lanka in 2015.
A Hite Jinro official said, “With an adequate level of alcohol percentage and fragrance, Jinro 24 would suit well the tastes of the drinkers in Sri Lanka who have preference towards liquors with high alcohol content.”
