The company held the “Samsung Premier 2014-NX” event in Cologne, Germany, on September 16 where it showcased the NX1. This event aims at drawing more market attention prior to the opening of the world’s largest camera exhibition Photokina 2014 which will be held for six days starting from September 17 in the western city.
Samsung Electronics developed the NX1 under the goal of making it good enough to emulate DSLR camera. The NX1 employs a 5G image processor DRIMe V and a 0.055-second high-speed auto focus.
In the first half of this year, Sony grabbed the largest share of 51 percent in Korea’s mirrorless camera market, followed by Samsung with about 30 percent.
