DAEJEON, SEOUL - The Innovation Centre at the Embassy of Denmark (Ambassador Thomas Lehmann) is collaborating with Danish pump company Grundfos Holding A/S (CEO Mads Nipper) to run an innovation camp for university students from 26-31 October, 2014 at the KAIST campus in Daejeon.

10 Danish students and 10 Korean students in the field of engineering have been selected from leading universities (Seoul National University, KAIST, Technical University of Denmark, University of Aarhus, and Aalborg University) for the camp. They will be divided into teams and given a week to come up with technical and business solutions to the question: ‘How can we optimize the energy efficiency in commercial buildings’

Under the guidance of academics and Grundfos professionals, the 20 students will undergo lectures and case studies that will help them take a creative approach in a business situation. A presentation of their final solutions will take place before a panel of experts on 31 October alongside the closing ceremony.

Danish Ambassador Thomas Lehmann says, “The Grundfos Student Innovation Camp is a prime example of the efforts of the Innovation Centre to facilitate valuable industry-academia connections between Korean and Danish partners. I believe that by bringing together some of the brightest young minds from our two countries, we are sowing the seeds for future cooperation in the areas of innovation and sustainable growth.”
