SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Motor’s Sonata and Kia Motors’ K3 were named “Top Rated Cars” by U.S. automotive information site Edmunds.com.
The Sonata achieved high scores in overall assessment categories, including basic safety specs and family friendliness, and acquired an A grade, being honored as the best car in the passenger car category.
Kia Motors’ K3 and K3 Koup were named as the best cars each in the passenger car and coupe categories.
Edmunds.com has been evaluating the overall quality of about 200 new cars every year by classifying them into ten categories, including passenger cars, coupes, SUVs, hatchbacks, mini-vans, and so on.
All of the new cars go through general road testing, with their safety and convenience specs being tested on the track.Edmunds.com divides them into several grades, with A-rated models becoming the best car of the year.
