SEOUL KOREA  - Walt Disney’s smash-hit animation movie “Frozen” became the No. 1 search word of the year in Korea’s portal Daum Kakao.Daum Kakao revealed the most-searched words of the year 2014 on November 27. The Frozen original sound track songs came on top in the “new word search” category, followed by the sunken ferry Sewol.

In this category, the No. 8 search word was “the Meaning of Yellow Ribbon,” indicating many people’s wish for the survival of those who were on board the ferry.

Topped in the category of “people search” was Sohn Suk-Hee, a famous Korean broadcast journalist and anchor, who delivered live broadcasts on the rescue effort at the Paengmok Harbor inJindo Island, near the site where the ferry sank.

In the category of “new word search,” Tayo bus and Larva subway ranked No. 4 and No. 10, respectively.In the “event search” category, major sports events, including the Sochi Winter Olympics, the Brazil World Cup and the Incheon Asian Games, were included.
