Seoul Korea, 28th April, 2015 - SK Telecom announced it held its monthly T Dev Forum for developers entitled “Creating New Values in the 5G Era” to discuss the latest 5G technologies and provide a foundation for building the 5G ecosystem.
Over 400 participants ranging from developers, start-ups and venture companies to academic experts and global ICT companies attended. Representatives from global ICT leaders including Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, Qualcomm, Intel and HP share insightful keynote speeches and panel discussions on the future of 5G. Presenting its vision and strategies for 5G as well as advanced network architecture, SK Telecom reiterates that 5G is necessary for the innovation of network structure.
Speaking ahead of the event, SK Telecom CEO Jang Dong-Hyun commented, “SK Telecom is committed to providing unique 5G customer services in order to enable innovation in customer experience that goes far beyond technological innovation,” adding, “We will continue to support small and medium-sized businesses and developers to help them create new opportunities through 5G, which in turn will lead to adding value to customer experience.”
Having made its debut at MWC 2015, SK Telecom’s 5G Robot also made an on-stage appearance. The robot showcases how it moves in real-time in accordance to human movements through a 5G-enabled connected network, demonstrating ultra-low latency — a key feature of 5G.
Finally, the forum also discussed the ability to provide a full range of services including 3D video holograms when 5G comes into full swing.
