Lecture of Dr. Robert Huber, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, at Green Cross R&D Center auditorium in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do for the first ‘Mogan Lecture Series.’

Mogam Biotechnology Institute clarified on the 12th that it introduced the lecture of Dr. Robert Huber, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, at Green Cross R&D Center auditorium in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do for the first ‘Mogam Lecture Series’ on last 11th.

Dr. Huber, member of Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Germany, won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1988 with Dr. Johann Deisenhofer and Dr. Hartmut Michel for the contribution of determining the structure of protein compound related with bacteria’s photosynthesis.

‘Mogam Lecture Series’ is a event Mogam Research Institute invites world class great scholars, introduces lectures for listening to objective opinions from the outside about ongoing researches.

The institute plans to introduce ‘Mogam Lecture Series’ more than 4 times a year, starting with Dr. Huber’s lecture, and explained that it’s a event strengthening the institute’s competitiveness and its research network.

This day, Dr. Huber, member of Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Germany, gave his lecture with the title of ‘Protein Structures, Basic Science and Application, My Experience.’ Before the lecture, he met researchers of the institution, and shared the opinion of the ongoing researches by the institute, such as developing antibody medicine, improving protein foundation structure, small molecules drug and so on.

Dr. Robert Huber said, “I was deeply inspired by your researches that apply and perform the recent biotechnology techniques, and I hope the research projects currently carrying on will prepare more firm base through the protein structure research” through the dialogue with researchers of the institution.

On the other hand, Mogam Biotechnology Institution recently recruited Dr. Choi Seunghyun who was head of the structural biology at Salk Institute, the world-class institute, as head of the institution, and prepare to leap to the institution that possesses global competitiveness, such as revealing ‘DARE TO DISCOVER’ as the new brand that symbolizes the vision of Mogam Research Institute, following the 31st anniversary of its foundation.
