Woori Bank said on Thursday it opened Woori Finance Myanmar, its 200th branch overseas, after having a microfinance license from the Myanmar authority in September.
With the opening of Woori Finance Myanmar, Woori Bank has 200 overseas branches for the first time as a local bank since it was founded 48 years ago in November of 1968.
Woori plans to expand its global network by setting up new branches and through M&A in Southeast nations including Vietnam, India, the Philippines and Cambodia next year.
The company also said it plans to diversify its method to jump into the global markets by jointly working with its subsidiary Wibeebank and setting up both online and offline fintech business.
