BrilliantTS, a FinTech company in Korea, made its debut on Feb. 27 at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC2017) in Barcelona, Spain.

The company has unveiled a "Thinpl (thinpl.com)" Smart-multi card that will offer an enhancement in user experience. The new product is available on demonstration at the event.

Chung Kang-yung, senior director of the company's business development, said, "We introduce a new global strategic device of smart multi card ‘Thinpl’ to meet the high standards of quality and excellence we achieved through actions not words. We are excited to promote crowdfunding through Kickstarter or Indiegogo in the first half of this year.”

The product was designed to reduce the number of cards needed in your wallet by registering up to 30 cards in one place, the same size as a standard EMV (Eurocard, MasterCard, Visa) card to make it compatible with existing point-of-sale and ATM systems, he explained.

This includes credit and debit cards as well as the likes of public transport travel – supporting magnetic and near field communications (NFC), one time password (OTP), employee ID card, and membership cards.

"Furthermore, the user interface is nice and simple – the buttons to select the 'card' wish to use, and with an associated app for configuring the multi-card," he said.

As to the security features, he continued, this card can sync with smartphone through BLE (Bluetooth Low-Energy) and their own apps. Smartphone can even give a warning when you accidentally leave the cards behind at the coffee shop, the cards will automatically deactivate themselves.

Meanwhile, BrilliantTS CEO Bae Jae-hun said, “It is very proud moment as we showcase and launch our value and brand to global audiences, which has been developed and proved for many years. We believe that just the beginning we are to tap the global market door and aim to take our vision of smart multi-card even further with an enhanced portfolio."
