JobTech Provides First Whole Country Online Jobs Scan of Indonesia and Finds that 42% of Online Jobs are Technology Jobs

SINGAPOREJuly 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ Korea IT Times-- JobTechTM has initiated coverage on Indonesia's rapidly expanding technology sector. In tandem with the launch of Indonesia's 2020 Go Digital Vision to become the biggest digital economy in Southeast Asia, technology jobs in Indonesia account for 42% of total unique online jobs from January - June 2017. Of these, more than 60% of the job postings are localized in Jakarta. Based on the trending in the first half of 2017, technology jobs in Indonesia are expected to continue to grow strongly for the rest of the year.

Technology jobs that are in demand include: Software Engineers, Developers (including Web Developers, Program Developers, and Application Developers), Programmers and Digital Media Specialists. These in demand technology jobs accounted for 30% of the total number of technology jobs in Indonesia.

Demand for fastest growing skills was found to steadily increase every month throughout Jan - Jun 2017. Fastest Growing Domain Knowledge required by employers include:

  • RDMBS (Relational Database Management System) -- Knowledge of SQL, MS SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle, MySQL and Microsoft Access
  • SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) -- The process of conceptualizing, developing and deploying an information system.

Fastest Growing Technical Skills include:

  • API -- Commonly understood to be a hybridization of subroutine definitions, protocols and tools purposed for application software
  • Reactjs -- a JavaScript library used for building user interfaces
  • LESS.js -- A CSS pre-processor commonly harnessed for large Web Interface Design
