[Darmstadt, Germany] Merck, the world’s science and technology companies, will participate as a first-time exhibitor at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. The company presents a wide range of innovative solutions at the major European automotive trade shows, including components for smart headlight systems and OLED taillights, smart satellite antennas, and effect pigments for interior and exterior surfaces. It's announced on August 23.

At its stand at the IAA in Frankfurt (Hall 3.1, Stand A21), Merck will present technical solutions of the future already today. The public will have the opportunity to learn about the use of smart chemical materials for the “car of tomorrow” based on relevant exhibits and displays at the company’s stand in the New Mobility World (September 12 to 17, 2017).

Dieter Schroth, head of the Automotive Platform and responsible for innovative liquid crystal applications in the Display Materials business unit, said, “Materials from Merck are already used to provide functionality and aesthetics in many sections of a vehicle. In times of digitalization and connectivity, however, the potential of our technologies is still far greater than we can show at the IAA.”

For many years, Merck has offered a wide variety of products for the automotive industry within Performance Materials. Merck aims to meet the increased demand for smart technologies with its Automotive Platform and participation in the IAA.
